To be a Christian, is to walk with God. It is to have fellowship with Jesus Christ.
It is to accept the gift of salvation, and to live a life pleasing to God.
Revelation 3:20; Colossians 1:10-12;
In general, religion is man's attempt to make it to Heaven, rather than by God's
grace and forgivness. Christianity is solely based on a relationship with God. During
Jesus' time on earth, he confronted the religious leaders on their lack of love
and intimacy with God.
Luke 18:9-14 ; Matthew 23
God is loving and just; he is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. God is Holy,
and requires his people to be Holy. God longs for intimacy with the human race,
and for their love. The greatest love of all was shown by Jesus dying for everyone
on the cross and destroying the barrier of sin, in order that we may have a relationship
with Him.
Genesis 1:1,26-27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2;
13:14
Adam, the first man, was made in the spiritual image of God. After Adam sinned in
the Garden of Eden, man was reduced to a lowly state, and brought sickness, death
and suffering into the world. Man was originally created to have a relationship
with God. Jesus talked about being 'Born-Again'. Being 'Born-Again' is being re-birthed
spiritualy as a son or daughter of God. We are born-again by asking Jesus into our
life. Then through the grace of God we can destroy the sinful nature that is part
of us. It's only by the Grace of God that we can destroy this sinful nature, man
cannot do this on his own.
Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2
Man was created to exist forever, and will exist either eternally separated from
God in Hell, or with him in Heaven. The way to Heaven is narrow, but the road to
Hell is wide. Jesus stated that it is by a relationship with him, and living Holy
that we will make it to Heaven. Understand that Hell was not made for man, but for the Devil and
his Angels. Jesus Christ paid the price so that we may be with him in his Kingdom
forever; but we have a choice.
John 3:16; John 2:25; John 5:11-13; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15;
1 John 5:11-12; Matthew 25:31-46
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Jesus stepped into time, emptied himself of his
divine power, and lived a sinless human life. He offered Himself as the perfect
sacrifice for the sins of everyone by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after
three days, demonstrating His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven, and
his Spirit, The Holy Spirit, remains with us. He alone is the way to Heaven, and
there is no other name under Heaven by which man can be saved.
Matthew 1:22,23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14,15;
1 Corinthians 15:3,4; Romans 1:3,4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14,15; Titus 2:13
Salvation is a gift from God to man. Salvation cannot be purchased, bought, or earned;
it simply must be accepted. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement
or good works. Only by believing in Jesus Christ and obeying his teaching by the
Grace of God can man be saved from sin´s penalty.
Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians
3:26; Romans 5:1
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus, and is called The Spirit of Truth, The Spirit
of The Lord, and The Counselor. The Holy Spirit is given to followers of Jesus Christ
to give them spiritual power, to strengthen and comfort them, and to guide them
into all Truth. He brings conviction on the world, and believers alike. He lives
in every Christian from the moment of salvation, and provides the Christian with
power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is
right.
2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16,17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians
2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:1
The Bible is God´s word to all men. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural
guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs
and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth, without any mixture of error.
